A perfect compliment to the Xpress and ParaForm system and delivering the most remarkable reduction in labour requirements for the Pathology laboratory, the Sakura AutoTEC automated embedding system streamlines and standardizes the embedding process using robotics to fully complete the embedding steps previously performed by a technologist. Cassettes organized in magazines are loaded directly from the Xpress into the AutoTEC instrument with no manipulation required. Using the precision of laser measurement, paraffin is dispensed in accordance to the specific individual tissue density requirements to produce fully formed tissue blocks organized into magazines and ready to move to sectioning.

Increasing throughput - reducing labour

Fully automated, the AutoTEC will handle and embed 120 specimens per hour - faster than manual methods by approximately 50%. Time to trim blocks in preparation for sectioning is also reduced due to precisely measured paraffin dispensing.
