Founded in 1971 and headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, Streck manufactures hematology, chemistry, and immunology products for the clinical laboratory. For over 30 years, Streck has been a leading developer and manufacturer of control products for the clinical laboratory. Streck developed some of the first hematology reference controls; and since that time, the company has developed many more control products for automated instruments. Streck’s hematology controls closely resemble and perform like patient samples. Controls are available for most brands of hematology analyzers and come in multiple levels to test the accuracy and sensitivity.

Streck ESR-Chex

The First Whole Blood Sed-Rate Control for Automated and Manual Methods

ESR-Chex is a two-level hematology control used to monitor erythrocyte sedimentation rates. It provides superior sed-rate accuracy, reacting to physical factors such as bench top vibration, temperature, and tube angle and alerts the technologist to possible problems that may affect the accuracy of patient results. ESR-Chex is manufactured from human red blood cells and verifies the precision and accuracy of manual and automated methods. ESR-Chex is assayed for the most frequently used sedimentation rate tubes in conjunction with the Classical Westergren, Modified Westergren, and Wintrobe methods. Automated and modified procedures do not require removal of sodium citrate, and ESR-Chex is used in the same manner as a patient sample.

Streck Cal-Chex

Cal-Chex – Accurate and Reliable Hematology Calibrator

Cal-Chex hematology calibrator is assayed for Beckman Coulter®, Abbott, Drew™, Infolab, Horiba Medical, and Mindray instruments. Because Cal-Chex is assayed on analyzers calibrated with whole blood using standard reference methods, it ensures accurate and reliable calibration of hematology analyzers. The 3.0ml vial has a pierceable cap.

Streck Cal-Chex A Plus

Hematology Calibrator for Abbott CELL-DYN® Analyzers:

Cal-Chex A Plus hematology calibrator is assayed for the Abbott CELL-DYN® 3000, 3200, 3500 and 3700 analyzers. Assays are also provided for the CELL-DYN 1700. The product is available in a 3.0ml pierceable cap vial.

Streck CVA

Ensuring Confidence in Every Patient Result:

Convenient and comprehensive, Calibration Verification Assessment (CVA) establishes an instrument’s reportable range as well as verifies linearity testing the extreme upper and lower limits of an instrument, assuring that abnormal patient results are valid. CVA and CVA for CELL-DYN® are assayed linearity control kits that are used to determine the patient reportable range of 3-part and 5-part hematology instruments. CVA also measures the linear performance of the analyzer. Each kit has customized ranges appropriate for each instrument model and provides instrument-specific assay values for the white blood cell (WBC), Platelet, red blood cell (RBC), and Hemoglobin parameters. WBC and Platelet parameters have extended ranges providing values up to 410,000 and 3.5 million for instruments with extended linearities. Data can be submitted to Streck for a comprehensive linearity report at no additional charge. Reports include a graph that clearly displays the instrument’s linearity and accuracy, a peer group comparison, and an interpretive results section — a useful tool to demonstrate compliance with laboratory regulations. Streck Cell-Chex™

The Only Body Fluid Control With 5-Part White Cell Differential Capability:

Cell-Chex is a body fluid procedural control for red blood cell (RBC) and white blood cell (WBC) counts, crystal identification, and white blood cell differentiation. Cell-Chex is a spinal and body fluid control with distinct white blood cell and red blood cell populations for manual counts. When stained in the same manner as a patient sample, the white blood cells can be differentiated. The multi-level control is assayed for manual cell counts, the 5-part white blood cell differential, as well as the two-part polymorphonuclear and mononuclear differential. Level 1-UC contains urate crystals and Level 1-CC contains CPPD crystals to aid in identification of crystals in synovial fluid.

Streck Cell-Chex™ Auto

The First Automated Body Fluid Cell Count Control For Abbott, Beckman Coulter®, And Sysmex® Hematology Instruments:

Improve efficiency, maintain testing accuracy, and decrease turnaround times for most body fluid samples by eliminating the need for manual hemacytometer testing by one or more technologists.

Cell-Chex Auto is a three-level spinal and body fluid control for evaluating the accuracy and precision of hematology instruments that measure blood cell counts in patient body fluid samples. Cell-Chex Auto is packaged in a plastic 3.0ml vial with a pierceable cap. The assay provides total red blood cell (RBC) and white blood cell (WBC) values for the following:

  • Abbott CELL-DYN® 3200
  • Sapphire® and Ruby®
  • Beckman Coulter® * LH 750/LH 755, LH 780 and UniCel® DxH 800
  • Sysmex® XE-2100, XE-5000, XT-2000i, XT-1800i, and XT-4000i instruments.
  • Two-part WBC differential assay values are also provided for the Sysmex XE-5000 and the XT-4000i.
