Celebrate and Share Stories of Inspiration
IWD is a global day celebrating the achievements of women across the globe. Our staff will share stories of inspiration which we will post on an “inspiration board”.
Picture a Scientist viewing and coffee table discussion
Picture a Scientist, chronicles the groundswell of researchers who are writing a new chapter for women scientists. Biologist Nancy Hopkins, chemist Raychelle Burks, and geologist Jane Willenbring lead viewers on a journey deep into their own experiences in the sciences. Their goal in making the film was to raise visibility around the critical issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion in science and invite viewers into a deeper conversation about how to make science more inclusive. Thus, the film is just the start.
After viewing the film, Somagen will invite staff to attend a coffee table discussion to talk about the film, and hear their perspectives on this important topic.
