Tissue-Tek® Cryo3® Flex Cryostat
Innovative Cryostat technology
For the first time in the history of cryotomy, Sakura Finetek successfully integrated its advanced remote diagnostics technology platform, Tissue-Tek® iSupportTM, into the hardware and software of this frozen section cryostat. The plug-and-play connection opens communication to a secure remote service that ensures maximum uptime through fast reaction to instrument alerts by Sakura Finetek’s professional technical support team.
The cryostat’s color touch LCD screen provides a visual display of critical sectioning information such as current chamber temperature, section thickness, and trimming thickness. The Cryobar® offers 12 positions, allowing operators to use the Cryomold® method or direct method at the same time. The Cryo+™ area of the Cryobar® freezes to -50◦C, within 5 minutes after activation.
The motorized advance and retract keys on the cryostat allows smooth, precise orientation of the 3D Precision Chuck to the blade holder. The blade holder accommodates Accu-Edge® high and low-profile disposable blades.
Tissue-Tek® Cryo3® Flex D and DM models offer innovative options like motorized frozen sectioning, ozone disinfection, and a vacuum debris removal system.
Tissue-Tek® O.C.T. Compound
The most popular and consistent embedding medium for cryotomy
Tissue-Tek® O.C.T. Compound is used to quickly embed fresh tissue specimens for frozen sections using a cryostat. Tissue-Tek® O.C.T. Compound is a formulation of clear, water-soluble glycols and resins, providing a solid matrix to encapsulate tissue specimens and bond to the Specimen Holder for consistent sectioning in a cryostat working temperature of -10°C and below.
Undesirable background staining is eliminated as no residue is left on the slides during staining.
O.C.T stands for optimal cutting temperature.
The high viscosity of Tissue-Tek® O.C.T Compound results in fast freezing for optimal section quality.
The OCT Compound is sold in 4 oz (118 mL) squeeze bottles; 12/case.
