Tissue-Tek® NanoMolds™ Base Molds produce uniform paraffin blocks much quicker and release easier than traditional methods without the use of chemical mold release solutions. The stainless steel tissue embedding molds are manufactured with an exclusive and patented Nano Technology coating that speeds up the embedding process helping laboratories save time, labor, and increase efficiency. Even more time savings are achieved because residual paraffin is no longer left in the molds, drastically reducing the amount of cleaning necessary. Tissue-Tek® Base Mold System

The Tissue-Tek® Stainless-Steel Base Molds are designed for use with Tissue-Tek® Uni-Cassette® and Uni-Cassette® Biopsy Cassette Systems, as well as Tissue-Tek® Processing/Embedding Cassettes, Tissue-Tek® Mega-Cassette™, and Tissue-Tek® Paraform® Sectionable Cassette Systems. The tissue embedding molds are made of stainless steel and are reusable with extended fins to prevent tipping and to provide a gripping surface for easy handling. The flat, metal bottom allows maximum heat/cold exchange to enhance embedding and release of the paraffin block.
Tissue-Tek® Mold Release
Embedding mold release eliminates the hassle of embedding block sticking to the base mold
Tissue-Tek® Mold Release is used for coating Tissue-Tek® Base Molds to ensure a clean separation of embedding paraffin from the mold after the block has cooled. The working solution is prepared by adding 5 mL of Tissue-Tek® Mold Release Concentrate to 95 mL of ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. The molds are dipped in solution and dried prior to embedding. Once dry, the embedding mold release provides a temporary non-stick barrier for simple, and easy release of the block from the mold.
Tissue-Tek® Embedding Rings
An embedding solution for large tissues
Tissue-Tek® Embedding Rings are precision-molded to allow proper and secure positioning of tissue samples in base molds. The Embedding Rings are chemical resistant to hold up against common tissue processing reagents. The etched marking surface allows for the application and display of sample identification throughout the process. Embedding Rings come in five (5) different colors to provide easy visual identification.
Tissues are placed into one of the Tissue-Tek® Base Molds for Embedding Rings, the Embedding Ring is placed into position, and the mold is filled with the embedding medium. Once cooled, the embedding ring holds the tissue securely in the microtome chuck adapter to allow proper sectioning of the tissue.
